Awake: 6+32am Temp 42 constant rain overnight @ Wytheville, Virginia.

After a good complimentary breakfast incl. cereal, hard boiled eggs, & make your own waffles + a comfortable night’s rest, we find out via e-mail that Nick & family arrived in Seattle last night around 10:00pm. Now, how they did that or what airport they departed from in PA, we do not know yet, but we are certainly glad to know that somehow, somebody made it happen.

We leave the Best Western Hotel @ 8:34am with drizzle & more off & on fog…& later, consistent rain + dense fog, so thick that vehicles used their emergency flashers to help keep track of distance between each other thru the higher elevations.

We stop for lunch, a repeat of yesterday, & then Kathy takes her turn driving now that the fog has lifted & better visibility returned. We make a fuel & nature stop, then she squeezes in (4.5 hrs) of non-stop driving; as daylight darkens to night, it’s my turn again.

As we are covering the miles thru South Carolina on I-26 & then Georgia on I-95, Kathy brings up the fact that: “we are almost back to our home-on-wheels, so we might as well skip a hotel/motel night & go all the way” and so we did, arriving @ 9:48pm with a total mileage from Indiana, PA to Bushnell, FL of (1094). We take only our overnight kits & the cooler into the motorhome for the night; watch the “O’Reilly Factor & have a nightcap to celebrate our uneventful return trip & a most decent family rendezvous in Indiana, PA.

Lights out: 12:15am
