Awake: 7:20am Temp 63 sleep 7+21 afternoon rain overnight @ Nicktown, PA.
About 8:30am, Karen called with a heads up for a 9:00am rendezvous @ Roland's for breakfast...which is about (7) min from Nicktown.
In the restaurant, Karen & Kathy continued their rapid fire yak-yak (they've been friends for 42 yrs) while Steve & I just looked @ each other. Kathy was as eager to see as Karen was to show her a snowman quilt & embroidered snowmen squares that she had made. Karen really is quite the talented seamstress!
Roland's serves a good sized breakfast so halfway through our meal, both K & I requested a doggy bag in lieu of stuffing ourselves.
Time went quickly, & soon, K & I said our goodbyes as K & S will be motoring to Philidelphia today to visit Steve's aunt & spend the night...& tomorrow, on the road to Florida. We thanked them for their visit & wished them bon voyage & safe traveling.
Early afternoon I visited with Dave & did a lot of car talk. Later, I drove our Buick to the storage facility for the winter.
Dinner: BLT's with pickled cucumbers, potato chips & cantaloupe.
Kathy called Melissa to check on Nathan. The Dr. has been hearing a heart murmur & today Melissa took him to Indiana Hospital to have an echo cardiogram. He got thru the procedure OK, but Melissa won't know the results for several days. We also wanted to visit the Footes again before the week ended, but Melissa has activities planned with friends & will not be available; we'll line something up for next week.
Finish movie: "Manpower" with Edward G. Robinson, Marlene Dietrich, George Raft, Alan Hale, etc. Lively, typical Warner Bros. film, with nightclub "hostess" Dietrich coming between high-voltage power line workers Robinson & Raft. Scene in a diner is worth the price of admission. 1941. Back in 1941, admission would be about .25 cents....what would it cost today?
Lights out: 12:04am.
