Awake: 5:50am Temp 46 sleep 6+16 overnight @ Nicktown.

After breakfast, I continued mowing grass, this time the alleyway. I didn't want Kathy to help me so we made another deal; I mow again today & she cleans up the dinner dishes tonight.

Our grass growth is slowing down now as it nears the fall season, & thus takes less time to cut. Today's mowing: approx 2.5 hrs & that includes some yak time with neighbor Mac.

Dinner: Italian sausage with fried onions, peppers & mushrooms + sourdough bread.

Finished the movie: "The Trial" with Anthony Perkins, Jeanne Moreau, Romy Schneider, Elsa Martinelli, Orson Welles, etc. Gripping, if a bit confusing, adaptation of Kafka novel of man in nameless country arrested for crime that is never explained to him. Not for all tastes. 1962. Orson Welles rewrote the story & directed it saying: "The Trial is the best film I ever made." Well, not for all tastes include us; two thumbs down.

Lights out: 11:44pm.
