Awake: 5:54am Temp 54 sleep 6+23 mostly sunny overnight @ Nicktown.

After brunch, Kathy did some reading & then time on our computer; meanwhile, I spent most of the afternoon making changes on our house plans.

Before our dinner, Zack called while walking to a restaurant for lunch; we had a nice chat & he did mention that everything is going relatively smoothly.

Dinner: Junior power burger, sauteed mushrooms, mixed salad, multi-grain bread, cantaloupe & Bing cherries.

We finished: "42nd Street" with Warner Baxter, Ruby Keeler, George Brent, Bebe Daniels, Dick Powell, etc. The definitive backstage musical still has plenty of sass___ along with its clichés. Every understudy's dream is to get a big chance & rise to stardom. Such is the premise of 42nd Street. This Depression-era musical of 1933 is lifted by its vitality & sincerity. Ailing director Baxter puts everything into what may be his final show, & then leading lady Daniels twists her ankle. 1933. Those dancing rehearsals seemed to go on forever but watching the final extravaganza was the payoff.

Lights out: 11:54pm
