Awake: 5:19am Temp 43 sleep 5+43 rain began @ 7:55am overnight @ Nicktown.
K & I attend 8:00 am Mass, then join the KK meeting for over an hr. Big crowd today; 18 conversations @ one time.
Back in our coach, we do our baby proofing routine as we are expecting Melissa & the young boys around 2:00 pm. Some time later, Andrew calls: he tells Kathy they are running late; Kathy asks him why? Matthew takes the phone & explains to gramma: “everything is taking more time today.” Usually we can expect them sometime between 2:00pm & 2:30pm; today however, they arrive @ 3:00.
Since the ground is wet with rain & drizzle, today’s visit will be an inside job. I thought their sojourn went well; K & I played selling matchbox cars with Matthew & Andrew, pretending they were full size & counting pretend monies; making change etc. During the boys snack time, Melissa & Kathy read library books to them, a special one for gramma’s eyes was “Monster In The Shed.” I spend time with Nathan. It’s a challenge having (3) active little guys to keep an eye on, especially in a small home like ours. Boys will be boys; they are curious & they enjoy learning what happens when a button, lever or dial is pressed, pulled, turned, etc…. & this small home on wheels is loaded with lots of all of the above. I will say though, most of the time these curious little guys do restrain themselves a great deal, thanks to their mother’s great reminding them of what is ok & what is not ok. For instance today, they decided that they would ask g-daddy if it was OK to turn a light on or off before doing it. Their departure time was around 5:00pm.
Dinner: turkey burger with horseradish & cheddar cheese, acorn squash & a salad.
We watch: “Modern Marvels”: Making butter; then the O’Reilly Factor.
DVR movie: finish watching: “The Seven Faces of Dr. LOI.” With Tony Randall, Barbara Eden, Arthur O’Connell, John Ericson, etc. Engaging fantasy of Western town brought to its senses by parables performed by mysterious traveling circus; tour de force for Randall, who plays six roles. 1964. Regardless of its fantasy, we found it quite entertaining.
