Awake: 5:22am Temp 57 sleep 6+10 rain overnight @ Nicktown.

K & I attend 8:00am Mass & afterward, join the KK for over an hr; hot topics: cost of oil & alternative fuel choices.

Al K. & I decided to save fuel & carpool to our Rotary meeting today. I ask Al how many stops he has on his list; he thought for a moment & said: (“4 or 5.”) “I have (2)” I told him. Not counting our stop @ Rotary, we had a total of (10). (7) for Al & (3) for me. Al got the best of me….this time.

When I returned home, Kathy was not feeling well; she reported she felt bloated, her stomach was tender & it didn’t feel right. She was unable to determine the cause.

Dinner: Kathy made (2) small crab cakes as a test; which passed with flying colors; then leftover tuna & noodle.

Katrina calls from Denver; she wants to know what’s happening with plans for the summer family rendezvous. Kathy had to tell her, it’s not going to happen this summer. All the ideas & places she checked, people she talked with, etc., are already booked & those that are not, are much too expensive and/or are not geographically suitable. We’ll just have to start our planning earlier to make it work for everyone.

DRV movie: “The Life of Emile Zola” with Paul Muni, Gale Sondergaard, Joseph Schildkraut, Gloria Holden, Donald Crisp, etc. Sincere biography of famed 19th-century French writer who rose to cause of wrongly exiled Captain Dreyfus (Schildkraut); detailed production filled with fine vignettes. Won Oscars for Best Picture & supporting Actor (Schildkraut). 1937. This story was GREAT & well acted; don’t miss it.

High temp=63 Lights out: 12:14am
