Awake: 5:50am Temp 37 sleep 6+03 sunny overnight @ Nicktown.
K & I attend 8:00 am Mass & then join the KK meeting. Hot topic: Tree stumps. Then we visit Krumenacker Hardware store to purchase extra drill bits for when Matthew visits tomorrow.
Early afternoon, K & I drive to Barnesboro, locate Dr. Peter Korch’s office & talk to his secretary about having him as our dentist, his hours, etc. He spends 2 or 3 days a week at the Barnesboro office and the other days at an office in Clearfield. This is a non-Barnesboro day.
Then to the local library where we get an updated library card & have copies made of our AARP health insurance stuff. Next we visit the Sherry Appliance store where Gary literally takes apart a new Flair vacuum cleaner before our very eyes to determine how to change a belt related to the beater bar system. The beater bar on Melissa’s Hoover unit quit working, so when the ordered belt arrives, I’ll get her unit fixed up. Lastly, we stop @ Bi-Lo for a few groceries & then return to our motorhome.
While Kathy makes sugarless cookies, I plant (23) more flags in stumps.
By the way, the groundhog's (3) exits that have been closed since last Thursday, have not exhibited any local activity yet; maybe she/he is taking a nice long spring nap.
Dinner: lamb chops, spaghetti with raw cherry tomato sauce & mixed salad.
DVR movie: “The Trip to Bountiful” with Geraldine Page, John Heard, Carlin Glynn, Richard Bradford, etc. Leisurely, richly textured filmization of Horton Foote’s 1953 television play about a widow, living unhappily with her son & daughter-in-law, determined to make her way home to Bountiful, Texas, for one last look. Page won well-deserved Oscar for her heartbreaking performance, but entire cast is excellent. 1985. Good story; you won’t be disappointed.
