Awake: 12:35am Temp 37 sleep 5+51 rain with big snow flakes for (1.2) hrs no accumulation overnight @ Nicktown.

K & I attend 8:00am Mass; Kathy was Eucharistic Minister for the1st time @ St Nicholas church; she did great. Afterward, we join the KK meeting for an hr; hot topic: Obama & Reverend Wright. Post office mail included a cute Mother’s Day card from Zack.

Back in our motorhome, John B. calls & we talk about the Gulf Stream G: 550 Corporate Jet. Then I spend the remainder of the afternoon reading & grading high school student essays for the Rotary scholarship.

Dinner: Ivar’s Clam Chowder, leftover turkey meatballs & salad.

Watch the news hr with Jim Lehrer & later, the O’Reilly Factor.

Herk K. calls mid evening; we discuss Joe M’s chainsaw & repair status. Last week @ the Rotary meeting, Joe M. ask me if I would take his chainsaw to Herk (nick name) K’s repair shop, on our way back to Nicktown; that was Al & my tenth stop. Herk had to order new parts so the repair will be delayed by a week.

DVR movie: “Body & Soul” with John Garfield, Lilli Palmer, Hazel Brooks, Anne Revere, William Conrad, etc. Most boxing films pale next to this classic of Garfield working his way up by devious means, becoming famous champ. Superb photography by James Wong Howe. 1947. I’m not one to watch a boxing match to begin with, but this story was fantastic.

High temp=48 Lights out: 12:11am
