Awake: 6:12am      Temp 24       sleep 5+56       snow flurries       overnight @ Nicktown.

We were getting low on our pure water supply in our motorhome so after breakfast, I bundled up with (3) layers of clothing & faced Mother Nature. Without going into a boring & technical explanation of my water system, it took awhile but I found out that my underground valve was restricting water flow.

My only option at best was to bring out my (40) ft hose & receive water straight from the well & directly into our pure water tank. All together, this extra activity took well over an hr. But hey, I got to be a real cool dude in the process!

Today, we planned to attend Ebensburg's 5th Annual "Dickens of a Christmas" events ...but we were a little late getting started. Kathy was the navigator & led us right to exhibit (1): The ICE Sculptures in Penn Eben Park. These ice cutters were getting a good start on their carvings.                   Here is a: "No horse open Sleigh." DSC000220.JPG                          And this block of ice is beginning to look like a Caboose. DSC000221.JPG              Everyone should have an Angel as a friend, regardless how warm it gets! DSC000222.JPG From here, we crossed over High Street to the "County Courthouse" & walked around & saw the decorations & displays. DSC000223.JPG Next, we visited the Holy Name church basement & looked over most of the "Craft Fair" items; very crowded. DSC000224.JPG Then we drove a few more blocks, parked the Suzuki & attended a "Cantata" filled with the mystery & wonder of Christmas. DSC000225.JPG        Our sister-in-law, Josie, center of picture, was a member of the choir; she sang alto. DSC000226.JPG It was great....& they offered many different choices of cookies at "The Welsh Tea" afterward.

My brother also attended this popular Cantata. So after having a tasty treat, Don led Kathy & me to the basement to watch the miniature "HO" gage railroad engines pulling their cars past towns & villages... DSC000227.JPG                                      &  through tunnels & over bridges. DSC000228.JPG                             Bill, the creator, did a marvelous job on this display.

From here, we agreed to join Don & Josie @ their home for a little libation with a few snacks. We had no idea of this annual event in Ebensburg since we are usually "out-of-town" for (4, 5, or 6) months during this time of year.

Back in Nicktown, we attended the vigil 6:00 pm Mass & then, Kathy, Theresa, John & I had a beer with our pizza @ the Nicktown Bar... & some good talk.

Back in our motorhome, we finished watching: "A Day at the Races" with Groucho, Harpo, Chico Marx, Allan Jones, Maureen O'Sullivan, Esther Muir, Margaret Dumont, etc. The Marxes wreak havoc at a sanitarium, where wealthy hypochondriac Dumont is the leading patient; often uproarious comedy features some of the trio's funniest set pieces (Chico selling race tips, the seduction scene, etc.) 1937. We think that during those days of the 30's, 40's, slap-stick was hilarious, so funny, etc. Maybe in these modern days, it's just plain goofy...not really funny @ all. Take your pick!

Lights out: 12:25am.
