Awake: 6:20am Temp 64 sleep 6+52 partly sunny overnight @ Nicktown.
K & I attend 8:00 am Mass & then skip the KK meeting; motor to Wal-Mart & Martin’s for groceries & arrive @ the Foote Castle @ 10:45am. Again….rain is forecast for the local area late afternoon or evening, so Kevin & I elect to continue work on the inside job: the 2nd floor bathroom, shower & small swimming pool tub.
Kevin takes the measurements; I cut & build more support structure for the swimming pool tub unit. We had to modify one section of last week’s work, but that was rectified in (45) min; otherwise, our support structure using 2X4’s is nearly finished. Dealing with cutting angles slowed the process considerably, but it’s better to be slow & do it right then to be quick & have to redo it again. I probably made close to a dozen trips from the basement to the 2nd floor checking on the precise fitting process. And, with Matthew always wanting to help, I had him deliver a few sections to Kevin for a fitting, then bring it back if it needed further trimming.
Kathy’s intended job was not ready for her to work on today so, basically, she babysat & played with the boys; a “job” she doesn’t mind at all.
Chef Melissa’s 1:30 pm lunch: Spaghetti, meat sauce & a mixed salad.
We leave @ 4:00pm; return to our coach, shower & walk to 6:00pm vigil Mass in Nicktown.
Small dinner: fruit salad & popcorn.
Finish watching movie: “Alice’s Restaurant” with Arlo Guthrie, Pat Quinn, James Broderick, Michael McClanathan, Geoff Outlaw, etc. Odd blend of satire, whimsy melodrama & social commentary, generally fun, with quizzically downbeat ending freeform lifestyle of group of friends. 1969. If you’re into the 60’s lifestyle, this flick is for you; if not….skip it. We should have.
Watch ½ of DVR movie: “Weekend Marriage.” Save the rest for the rest of the weekend.
Lights out: 12:12am
